High twist is exactly what it sounds like: the yarn is twisted harder before it is woven. That tension gives the fabric a natural spring — it shrugs off creases, recovers its shape on the hanger, and has the crisp, dry handle these fabrics are loved for.
Woven with an open construction, it is also remarkably breathable. The high twists we recommend come directly from the mills that weave them — Vitale Barberis Canonico and Lanificio Cerruti, two of Biella’s legendary mills.
